In generic Hamiltonian systems regular and chaotic dynamics coexist in phase space. What happens when such systems are used to transport particles over a long distance? While global chaos leads to undirected diffusion, chaotic transport may be directed and ballistic in a mixed phase space. In the talk I will explore this effect with a number of simple models and discuss also issues of quantum-classical correspondence in the presence of directed chaos.
