Abstract:
The equations of motion for matter with microstructure in non-Riemannian
spacetimes are discussed. It is demonstrated that ordinary matter cannot
be used as a physical tool to detect non-Riemannian geometry. Two explicit
models of matter are presented: elastic test particle, and hyperfluid.
Some misconceptions in the current literature are criticised.
