Public transport to the Institute:

From Cologne-Bonn airport:
From the train station take train S13 to Köln (get your ticket, zone 1b, destination code 2000, before entering the train). At Köln-Deutz, exit at the rear of the platform and use the connection tunnel to streetcar line 9, direction Sülz. Exit at station Universität (2 on map below). One ticket is valid throughout. Alternatively, exit at the main railway station (see below).

From Cologne main railway station:
Take streetcar line 18, direction Klettenbergpark or Bonn, Ticket Zone 1b, which is located in the underground at the cathedral-side exit. When reaching station Weisshausstraße (bottom of map below) after approximately 10 Minutes exit the train and leave the platform in direction of travel. At the junction turn right and go along Universitätsstraße for about 500 meters. Turn right into Zülpicher Straße and you will reach the department of physics (marker 1 on map below) after a few steps. (There is also a short-cut to the institute following the red line on the first map below across a parking lot).
Alternatively, take a regional train to Köln Süd.

From Köln Süd railway station:
Exit the platform on the south side. From the station exit, go straight ahead, using Otto-Fischer-Strasse for 200m and crossing a park for another 200m (see map below).

From the airport, take first train train S13 to the main railway station (see above). To reach the hotel from the main railway station, take subway line 16 or 18 (direction Bonn) to Barbarossaplatz. Cross the square, pass McDonalds and follow the Luxemburger Strasse direction Suedbahnhof. The 2nd. Street on the left just at the railway-bridge is the Moselstrasse turn left. The hotel is situated app. 100 metres on the left hand side. From the hotel it is only a 5 min walk to the institute (see map).

To reach the hotel coming from the main railway station, take any streetcar to Neumarkt and change there to line 1 (direction Weiden). Exit at the next station, Rudolfplatz and check the map below.
To reach the hotel coming from the Cologne/Bonn airport, take the train S13 from the airport (see above), exit in Köln-Deutz. At Köln-Deutz, exit at the rear of the platform and use the connection tunnel to streetcar line 1, direction Weiden. Exit line 1 at Rudolfplatz and check the map below.

Both the institute and the center are in walking distance (10 min, see map).
