Title: "Loop Quantum Cosmology"

Loop quantum cosmology is based on quantum geometry/loop quantum gravity, which is a candidate for a background independent quantum theory of gravity. After a review of the general theory we will discuss cosmological models and their applications. They include a removal of cosmological singularities by quantum effects, a new type of boundary condition which is derived from the evolution equation, and phenomenological implications which lead to inflation. In the last application, new results indicate that the scenario is at the verge of observability in the CMB angular power spectrum.
