Post-doc positions
in condensed matter theory
at the University of Cologne
The Institute of Theoretical Physics of the University of Cologne
has
several openings for post-doctoral fellowships in
theoretical condensed matter physics starting
August 2009 (or later).
The appointment involves research in the group of Prof. T.
Nattermann on the
theory of disordered systems, in particular on impure low dimensional conductors, cold atoms, superconductors, and magnets.
Theoretical expertise in condensed matter theory is preferred.
Further information can be found on our
homepage.
The group participates in the activities of the
Sonderforschungsbereich 608 "
Complex transition metal
alloys with spin and charge degrees of freedom and disorder"; for
more information see:
https://www.sfb608.uni-koeln.de/.
The group has strong scientific relation to a number of groups in
the US, France, and Israel.
The research topics of the other groups at the institute are
focused on condensed matter physics as well and include
mesoscopic physics (A. Altland),
statistical and
surface physics (J. Krug),
quantitative biology (U. Gerland and M.
Lässig),
solid state theory (A.
Rosch and M. Vojta), and
mathematical physics (M. Zirnbauer).
Review of applications will
begin immediately and will continue until the positions are
appointed. Interested applicants should send a curriculum vitae, a
list of publications, and three letters of recommendation to
