Wolfram Research Mathematica at University of Cologne
01.01.2023 - 31.12.2025: Wolfram Research Mathematica Campus License
News January 01, 2026: Your current Wolfam Mathematica license(s) will work until January 30, 2026. You still can submit new license requests and download Wolfram Mathematica as described below. However also such new Mathematica instances will run until January 30, 2026, only. A new contract with Wolfram Research currently is worked on by the university's central administration. Check for updated information on January 26, 2026.
Students of the University of Cologne can apply for a Mathematica license:
Step 1: Request a Mathematica Activation Key. You will have to create an account on the Wolfram Research user portal during the first login. Please use your SMAIL e-mail address example@smail.uni-koeln.de as login name (choose a different password).
Step 2: You will receive a) an e-mail by Wolfram Research with a confirmation of your request, and b) usually AFTER 1-2 working days a SECOND e-mail from Wolfram Research with a Mathematica Activation Key and Download information.
Step 3: During / After installation please REGISTER your Activation Key on the Wolfram Research webpage to be able to receive information on updates or license renewals at the end of the current calendar year via e-mail.
