We are a dynamic, young research group at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the University of Cologne.
Our research is centered around quantum materials, systems that exhibit the striking features of quantum mechanics through collective, emergent electronic phenomena. We aim to theoretically understand and predict spectroscopic and transport properties of quantum materials. To this end, we develop real-frequency approaches to strongly correlated electron systems, devising new algorithms – often with pen and paper – and implementing them numerically. We want to build the best methods to answer the most pressing questions!
